These terms apply to your use of hemchand.in. By using the website you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.
1. What this website is
hemchand.in tells the story of the Hemchand family and the work we do in diamond jewellery, art and antiques. Nothing is sold on this website. No content on it is an offer to sell, and no contract is formed through it. Every commission and purchase is agreed directly with us, in writing.
2. Drawings and designs
The drawings in our drawing book and elsewhere on the site show designs we can make. They are illustrations, not specifications: stone counts, sizes and proportions are indicative, and every piece is adapted to the person it is made for. The exact piece, its stones, metal, weights and price are set out only in your written quotation.
3. Quotations and orders
- Each quotation states its own validity period. Gold and diamond prices move, so a quotation may be revised once it has expired.
- Handmade pieces vary slightly. Your quotation states the tolerance allowed on finished weight, and the final invoice is raised on the actual weight.
- Deposits, timelines, delivery, alterations and any returns are agreed in writing for each order. Because most of our pieces are made to measure, these terms are set individually.
4. Diamonds and gold
Natural and lab-grown diamonds are never mixed without saying so. Every lab-grown diamond is declared as laboratory-grown on its certificate and on our invoice. Natural diamonds are bought from legitimate sources in line with United Nations resolutions on conflict diamonds. Where a certificate is stated, it is issued by an independent laboratory. Gold is hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards, with a HUID.
5. Art and antiques
Descriptions, attributions, dates and provenance are given in good faith on the information available to us, and are set out in writing when you buy. We tell you what we know and what we do not. Some works may be regulated under Indian law, including the Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972, which restricts the export of antiquities. We will tell you if this applies to a work you are considering.
6. Rooh
Rooh is made for homes and private collectors. Each Rooh is made for one painting and its owner, for private enjoyment. It may not be shown publicly or used commercially without our written consent.
7. Our content
The text, drawings, monograms, sketches, photographs and design of this website belong to Hemchand or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You are welcome to view and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy our designs or drawings to make or sell jewellery, or use our names and monograms, without our written permission.
8. Links and WhatsApp
The site links to WhatsApp and to other websites we think you may find interesting. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your data.
9. Accuracy and availability
We take care to keep the website accurate, but it is provided as it is, and it may occasionally be unavailable or contain errors. Please confirm anything important with us directly.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
11. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the date below shows the latest version. For any question, please contact Aman Hemchand, by email at hemchand9999@hotmail.com or on WhatsApp at +91 99307 27247. See also our Privacy Policy.
